On August 23, 2012, a ceremony marked the dedication of Ted Testa Park on Starr Road in Cortlandville.

Ted Testa Park is a multi-use facility that includes two regulation Little League fields, a combination baseball and softball field, and a soccer field. The park was the brainchild of Cortlandville town board member and the park’s namesake, Ted Testa, whose tireless work on the project helped it come to fruition. The work began on the park in 2006, and it officially opened in 2008. It is the home of the Crown City Little League, hosting numerous baseball, softball and soccer games, as well as lacrosse and soccer sports camps, and various tournaments.

On hand to witness the dedication were many baseball players and their families. State and local dignitaries participated in the ceremonies. These included state representative, Assemblywoman Barbara Lifton, and New York State Senator, James Seward, both of whom were instrumental in securing funding for the project. At its inception, Ted Testa Park funding came through grants, the incredible generosity of local businesses, and donations from the public. Two important and very generous local businessmen, Jim Yaman, owner of Yaman Real Estate, and Homer Gutchess, owner of Gutchess Lumber Company were of vital importance to the development of the park, as it was through their generosity that Ted Testa Park became a reality.
